As the co-chair of the ICA commission on Visual Analytics, I’m co-organising two workshops in the near future, one in Helsinki in June and one in Montreal in September.

Visually-supported Computational Movement Analysis (VCMA2016) calls for regular submissions (short papers on work in progress) or submissions to a data challenge on very cool seabird tracking open data by INBO. This workshop will take place on 14 June 2016 in Helsinki, Finland and is co-located with the AGILE 2016 conference. Submissions deadline is 15 March 2016.

Understanding Spatial Data (Big and Small) with Visual Analytics will take place on 27 Sept 2016 in Montreal, Canada and is co-located with the GIScience 2016 conference. We call for new visual analytics methods for spatial or spatio-temporal data and are particularly interested in how interactive visualisations support knowledge construction and analytical reasoning. Submissions are extended abstracts and should be submitted by 15 April 2016.
